Winter is Coming – Do You Know About FBR’s Closure Procedures?
When the
weather turns wintery, call our Weather Closure Hotline, 303-371-9250 to make
sure FBR is open. For safety of staff, volunteers and partner agencies,
there are times FBR may need to close or delay our open schedule. Call the
hotline after 7 am to confirm if we are closed or will be opening late due to
weather. If there is no closure recording, we will be open normal
business hours. We’ll also post closures to our website homepage, www.foodbankrockies.org.
In the rare
occasion when FBR is closed due to severe weather on the day you planned to
pick up your order, FBR will contact your program to reschedule or cancel your
pickup (at the Agency’s request). Orders scheduled to be pulled for pick up
the day following the closure will need to be rescheduled for later that day or
on another day after FBR reopens.
Agency
Express: Agency
Express is used by all three FBR branches, therefore, Agency Express can only
be shut down if the closure affects all three branches.

Are You Overlooking these Important TEFAP Requirements?
Here are the most common findings shared with us during recent Management
Evaluations:
Frontline Staff and Volunteers Have Not Received Civil
Rights Training
FNS instruction 113-1 XI: Frontline staff that interacts with program
applicants or participants, and those persons, who supervise frontline staff,
must be provided civil rights training on an annual basis.
All ERA’s must develop and implement a
procedure to provide staff and volunteers with annual civil rights training.
All frontline staff and volunteers that interact with TEFAP clients must have
civil rights training before the start of the work assignment and then on an
annual basis.
Agency Website
Does Not Contain the Updated Nondiscrimination Statement
FNS Instruction 113-1 IX.A.3: Nondiscrimination
Statement. All information materials and sources, including Web sites, used by
FNS, State agencies, local agencies, or other sub-recipients to inform the
public about FNS programs must contain a nondiscrimination statement…
All ERA’s must include
the nondiscrimination statement on all public notices referencing TEFAP, USDA
foods or commodities. If space is limited, the agency may use the short version
“this institution is an equal opportunity provider.”
“And Justice for
All” Poster was not Displayed in a Client Visible Area
FNS instruction 113-1 IX (B) (1): Prominently
display the USDA nondiscrimination poster "And Justice for All," or
an FNS approved substitute, except in family day care homes.
THE ERA’s must immediately display the “And
Justice for All” poster in a client visible location.
