Important Partner Updates - April 14, 2020
We’re Advocating for Neighbors Facing Hunger Food Bank of the Rockies has signed-on to this letter, requesting Colorado’s Senators and Representatives to support the following changes to our nutrition programs:
1) Increase SNAP benefits by 15% through May 2020 2) Increase minimum SNAP distributions from $16/month to $30/month through May 2020 3) Suspend finalization/implementation of any rule that would result in families losing benefits 4) Allow for online delivery of food with SNAP benefits
For Everyone’s Safety, Please Wear a Mask at Food Bank of the Rockies Governor Polis and the CDC encourage us to wear face masks outside of the house. We are strongly urging partner agencies, staff, volunteers and visitors to wear face masks. This request is not due to known COVID-19 presence at Food Bank of the Rockies, but because it is now a recommended practice for all citizens to help prevent the spread of the virus.
We encourage making your mask if you don't have one. There are many resources on the internet for easy, no-sew masks made from items you probably have at home. Cloth masks should be washed nightly. Disposable masks should be disposed of daily. Please be careful not to touch your face to adjust the mask. If you catch yourself doing so, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
Here is advice from the CDC on wearing and making a mask: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html
Below are some other ideas to make a mask:
No-sew face masks - t-shirt and rubber bands https://www.wishtv.com/news/local-news/how-to-make-a-diy-face-mask/
No-sew t-shirt mask - t-shirt and scissors https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/living/video/clean-shirt-spare-make-face-mask-69944363
Thank you for helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keeping all of us a bit safer during this uncertain time.
